A few months ago I came across a music video on YouTube. Sure, there are thousands of music videos posted on YouTube, but this one was special. It was a video by an aspiring Afghan singer. The singer’s name is Valy and he’s become quite a sensation. His songs are played on Afghan radio and TV stations inside and outside of Afghanistan. Dari
Dari is a variety of Persian and the native language of the Tajik people in Afghanistan. It is spoken in Northern and Western Afghanistan. The capital city of Kabul as well as the cities of Mazar-e-Sharif and Herat are all Dari-speaking. Read more

Many outsiders don’t realize that Afghanistan is actually a very diverse country. There are many different ethnicities.
